Oh yes, this is going on the coop roof, right in front of his bedroom window! Let's see him try to regulate Christmas decorations!
 
Alright so bad news good news.... Bad news is that the light up chicken is out of stock everywhere in all stores, online and offline, but the good news is that I found something even better - an outrageously colored light up rooster, and I ordered it! Going up on the roof of the coop December 1st, and I'll keep it at least through the end of January. And nobody will be able to say a thing!

I contacted TSC and this is what the representative said:
"We’re happy to hear you’re interested in purchasing a Lighted Chicken with Shimmer Scarf. However, we don’t currently carry this item in any of our stores or on our website and apologize for any inconvenience this may cause."

It's okay though, I like the rainbow rooster better. He's more in-your-face and thus more perfect for my purposes 😈

Our TS store has them in stock also---Same deal. We only need one. Wish we had a friend that wants one and then we could each save $. I am hoping to get one anyway! This is for use outside too right?? No info on that on TS page.
 
I'm so glad they clarified the regulations so now your chickens are safe and others aren't blindsided like you were. I thought of a suggestion as I was reading through the pages so I'll add this in case someone else is reading looking for ideas when they are in a similar situation: freestanding sculpture.

I remember seeing a picture floating around the internet years ago, a horse owner was denied permission to build a barn/shed/shelter for their horses, so they commissioned a sculptor who then made a giant sized table and chairs set, that the horses could easily walk under for shelter. It looked epic, the horses enjoyed it, and the folks who didn't want a structure built couldn't do anything because it was art.
