We built a new coop that my 5 mo. old littles have been in since leaving the brooder. I want to transition my older girls to the new coop. The older girls go in and out of the new coop. A couple have layed in there. Do I just put them in and hope for the best? Put them in at night? Put a couple of the less threatening girls in first? The littles are still intimidated by the older girls. A couple will chase them, but no serious confrontations.

You will have to shut your older girls in the new coop for a few days to make them realise that's their new home base, otherwise they will keep returning to the old one. Could you fence off a portion of the coop temporarily to keep them in but still give the littlies access to the door so they can go about their usual business?

The older girls won't be pleased (especially when the littlies will have all the freedom) but it will retrain them to use the new coop and it should only take a few days.
