Hi everyone! I'm new to raising quail and have a flock of 1 rooster and 3 hens.

One of the hens has been laying eggs with translucent whites when boiled. Any idea what this is? Is it something I can fix? Are such eggs fit for consumption? Is it normal?

Pictures: cooked egg in question, translucent white close up, normal egg in comparison.

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow

What breed are you keeping? 3 hens to 1 roo sounds like not enough hens. Over mating can lead to funky eggs and hen health issues, along with disease and diet. Hopefully you can get this figured out soon!
