Transporting goats

That's the way I always took my big Nubian boy, Newton. Newton would just stand like a dog with his head sticking thru the middle of the two front seats. At red lights, people would look over and expect that it was a dog and then be in shock that it was a goat. My goats are better behaved in the car than my dogs!

I have put full grown Boer goats in the back of a Honda Element. They were fine.
It was my husband that was a bit peeved when he found out.

I stick goats in my backseat or in the back of my van quite often. Last week I had a nubian in the back seat of the pickup. I bought her at auction, and drove her home 50miles. As long as they stay in a small confined space, they don't potty. In fact, I just took two nigis to the vet in the back "hatch" area of my van last Wednesday.

Mine too! I can't tell you how many goats have traveled in the back of my vehicles! It's my husband that has problems not the goats! I had two oberhaslis and a little nubian in the backseat of the Taurus a few weeks back when I took them to have their hooves trimmed! I thought my hubby was going to cry! I have learned to just take them when he is at work. He feels much better if he doesn't know about it.

He says we have too many goats! They are so addictive.

When I sold my 200+ pound half wild older Nubian buck the buyer came in a small/mid size car. He asked me to lead the goat in the back seat/floor of the car. The guy tied the goat, told his wife to get in back and put her legs over the goat and they took off. And they had a 2 our drive to get home. Smelly ride for sure.
