Hi All,

Recently with the great weather our hens have started to sleep outside of their coop in the main compartment of the hen house. It's all fenced up securely with planks / stone slabs surrounding the perimeter to stop foxes burrowing under but last night for the first time we heard a lot of commotion. When we went outside to check on the hens they were extremely upset and loudly crowing as we had just seen a fox outside their house. Again it's perfectly secure and they cannot be harmed but the fox's presence clearly agitated them. So we decide to pick up the hens and put them into their fully enclosed coop so the wouldn't be able to see him if he returned however one hen just sat in a corner looking directly up and rasping loudly. There are no wounds or anything else suspicious but she refused to move and didn't even recoil at our touch. She remained rasping for the rest of the night and we are all worried for her health. If anyone has any suggestions or reasoning behind this it would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

She may have crashed into the wall of the run, may just be shock.

Maybe, she's still like this 2-3 days after it happened and won't eat any seed or bread we try to feed her.
Shock should wear off within a day or so...is she drinking?
Won't eat her regular feed?
