i got a treadle sewing machine that works for 20 dollars at a garage sale! the cabinet is in working great shape and the sewing machine is too.the decals are a little worn but no big deal. would anyone know of a good website that might help identify all the feet that came with it?

no idea about a website but congrats on such a bargain!

there's usually a normal one, a zipper foot, and a button-holer to start with...

I found some links....

When I took my hand-me down sewing machine to a little out of the way repair shop to have it cleaned out and looked at (it wouldn't go backwards) the guy there was super nice, gave me all sorts of info about it. He showed me how to do all kinds of things with it, and ended up only charging me for the sewing machine oil. Perhaps you could do something similar? Find someone that hobbies in them maybe, or if there's a small appliance repair shop they might be able to give you a lot of info you might not have even known to ask! What a cool find. I am soooo jealous.

I am soooo jealous too. I have been looking for one of those for years. I used to have one a long time ago but as luck would have it I needed to sell it. I know my FIL has one and I'm sure I will get it someday. I hope it will be a long time from now.

Have a good time with it. I love that you can go as fast as you want or as slow as you want. I'm a slow sewer. LOL

i am too.. i am looking at all the attachments that came with it and they are pretty scary looking! they look brand new though so i think someone took really good care of this machine.

I remember my Grans old treadle machine - she switched out for an electric (which I inherited) I wish she had had the treadle one, still - I would prefer that to the electric one.

as a younger child I used to get into trouble for sitting in the chair by it and playing with the treadle and messing up her threading

Hey, I've got all those scary looking attachments! I even got the original manual with my machine. I was able to get my ruffler to work beautifly, it don't miss a beat! If you need help identifying these or want me to copy my manual for you please PM me. I'd be happy to send you this info. All of my attachments work great, I don't think these treadle machines could ever not work!

ooooh thanks! i would love that because it looks like a box of torture chamber equipment to me! i did figure out what the ruffler was..but other than that i am lost
