Treated with corid and still has runny poop

There was a runny, bloody poop in the brooder and some pretty sloppy poops so I treated the whole flock with liquid Corid. I did 1 tsp per gallon since I would consider it a moderate outbreak (none were showing any hunched over postures or puffed up bodies).

I treated them for five days, but there’s still liquidy poop in the brooder. Not all of them, but several. And it’s better than before, but someone is still leaving puddles.

What do you suggest?

I would always use the maximum 2 tsp per gallon dosage no matter what. How are they acting, eating, drinking? You may want to use some probiotics and vitamins for a few days.

They’re acting totally fine. I was going to do a second round of Corid in a week per some articles I read. Should I do the full dose then?

If you are seeing blood you need to treat with the max dose ASAP.

You can try some probiotics first or go ahead and do the second round full dosage, up to you.

There's no more blood present. Just puddly poop for some of them. But they're acting totally fine. Nothing out of the norm and being their sweet, silly selves.

If you don't know how to run a fecal analysis, check and see if your vet can/will run one and how much it would cost. Or maybe you have a vet school nearby. I have fecals done at my vets for $25 or at LSU Vet school for $18. This will tell you if the problem is cocci, another worm or maybe you have no worm issue and it is something else. Cheap insurance on the effectiveness of your treatment, especially as medications tend to be expensive. Get directions from your vet/lab on how to take and store a clean sample. When you call the vet, make sure they understand that you are not bringing the bird in, hat you just need a sample run.I don't want to pay for a chicken office visit ($100 and up) but I do have samples run at least 1xyear.
