Because of the warm winter, the ticks and other bugs are really bad this spring. I am getting 5 week old Buff Orpington chicks in 2 weeks. Can I spray my backyard with anything now to treat the bugs? I don't want to do anything that would harm my chicks. They will be mostly in a coop/run. I can keep them enclosed longer if necessary if there is a time line after I treat my yard. Any thoughts? Is there a type of bug spray that is safe around the chickens?

after treating soak the areas that you treated with water every day and don't let your chickens free range for at least a week preferably 2.
