Treating frostbite

Any reason you don't want to take her to the vet? I'd take mine in a heartbeat.

Actually I saw one of my birds combs bleeding, took her inside to look at the wound and stop the bleeding. It started turning black so I took her to the vet. Vet said to just let it fall off and she'd be OK. Later I realized the cut was probably her reaching her neck through the fence and getting stuck.

Nearest vet is 45min away and at least $200
I'm not rich and I have 16 chickens and another, more critical hen who needs the possible trip more.

Bottom line: Priorities and economics.

This is her now, with nothing on her comb

You definately have blistering which leaved it susceptible to infection. Use the Vetricyn and let us know if that helps. If you need an anitbiotic you can use this site for reference and dosage:

Can I use neosporin? I have that on hand.

I will be ordering in oral suspension of Amoxicillin for the egg binding, to prevent possible infection. Can I treat these two separate things with antibiotics at the same time?

Bactrin or neosporin will help. Do not use pain relief neosporin. Vetricyn would be better. Amoxicillin will kill all the bacteria including the good so be sure to be giving proper vitamins as well. You can give aspirin for pain. Im not sure on the dosage. Id encourage food as much as possible. Make her some scrambled eggs.

Found and used the Vetrycin.
Aspirin dose is five children's tabs to one gal water.
