Still in shock even after a week. They are such a happy bunch with good balance of feather colors! Now whenever I look at them, there is an imbalance - missing the beautiful gray feathers.

Heat was also a factor in triggering the sudden death of fat liver disease for laying hens.
They have plenty of ventilation in the coops, and I added an instant AC/humidifier unit to one of the coops after Juniper's death. The other coop has a continuous fan going. We also added additional shade cloth above both coops.

Now hunting on treatments for the bacteria detected before it's too late!
