Treatments for Prolapse Duck Phallus (Penis) - Under Construction - Updated 2-9-2021

I’ve seen a couple of my drakes with it “hanging out” for longer than I expected, but gladly they always eventually have retracted. But i agree, an article with everything in one place will come in handy!

I should also say it depends on how much the of the Penis actually stays prolapsed and if it twisted off any of the blood supply to the tip. Not all prolapsed Penis are the same. Definitely catching it sooner than later is a recipe for success...
I will be housing Casanova and Valentino together for the winter and introduce them to my selected Hens in the spring once I can provide a kiddie pool for my Drakes to keep themselves clean.
I definitely hope I never deal with this issue again...

i had to get most of my poor drakes phallus removed 7 days ago about 2 inches were out and the end of it was purple and starting to die it cost me around $780 for the checkup, surgery and meds i couldn't stand to see him in pain they took 4 out of 5 inches =( he is doing good and very horny he keeps trying to rape my arm lol

I think they did!

Here is what the call duck breed book says about prolapse penis under ailments common to the call duck breed.
*disclaimer. . I'm sure some of this info is somewhat outdated. The book was originally published in 1983. My book is the 2nd edition put out in 2010.
In this excerpt he talks about the penis regenerating. Just to clarify, I do not take this to mean that the entire penis will grow back. Just that it can heal and it is possible for them to still be fertile. I am sure much depends on how much of it has to be removed.
