Hey Finnie, I think I saw the same ferret people show on PBS. LOL! They are as bad as the cat show people (says the dog show person).

Rjohns...so glad Sam is back! And yes it's back to hot nasty weather here.

Alicia...the Silver Snake did a good job. Poults are cuties! There is some value in hanging on to a good momma bird. Hey, everyone needs a good pair of welding gloves!

Aurora, glad you kept the one poult...curious about it too. Your flock is full of surprises!

R2elk...took me a bit to "digest" the opossum story. You know, a friend of mine has a pet opossum. He works for the state, who actually owns, it & they use it for demonstrations with school groups. But...that thing is really kind of cute & super friendly. And what a nice coat of fur! Used to seeing scraggly opossum, but kept clean their coats are quite plush. Of course I still wouldn't trust the thing around my birds!!

Back to hot & humid. Need some rain too. However, being so dry allows the girls to take luxurious dust baths. I love watching the turkeys....they spend time arranging things just so...then practically flip upside down throwing dust everywhere. Annie can spend hours in a good spot. She's a pro. Daisy reminds me of that Peanuts character Pig Pen...she isn't great about shaking out the dust...she always manages to save some to shower me with when she hops on my chair.

Still broody.....boy they can be determined!

Where is everybody? Daisy has been acting like a pigeon lately. She seems to be flying a lot. Short bursts of flight. Not really sure why. I'll go outside & she'll fly up from the back of the yard. Let her out of her pen & she flies out into the yard. Take her for a walk & she'll launch across the yard. No trick flying...just low bursts of flights. Annie never flies....but she sure can run like a gazelle. Daisy has always liked to fly....but lately she seems to go airborne at every chance. And you can tell she loves it.

Or better yet....those that claim they can "talk" to animals.

Stopped at a local department store today to pick up a new lipstick. (The extent of my preparations for my nephews wedding this weekend.) I knew what I wanted, gal at the makeup counter was ringing me up. She kept staring at me. Little odd. All of a sudden she blurts out "are you the girl with the turkeys"??? Seems her boyfriend lives around the corner from me & they have seen us on our walks. Undoubtedly one of the oddest conversations ever conducted at the Bobby Brown makeup counter ensued. I should have bought the girls some nail polish!
