Glad he's friendly Yooper. Sure does make it easy when you have to handle them for some reason.
Angelica... cute name! Another wanna be lapper sounds like! Love it. Your flock sure has some sweet birds.

Had the girls pen door opened after our walk. Annie had to lay & Daisy was just kind of hanging out with me. So thought I'd let her dink around in my garden while Annie was busy. Got busy in the house. Forget to tuck them in. Found Daisy snoring on my back porch rail. Annie went to her roost. Had to haul her big turkey butt down to the pen. She just trilled the whole way. Turkeys are just funny....

Been dry in Memphis too. Odd thing is the weather imbeciles keep predicting rain & nothing shows up. Seems to fizzle out.

Migrated to Ste Genevieve today. Nephew getting married in St. Louis this weekend. Huge wedding with the reception at "the club".
Oh sigh.....

My sitter is taking care of the girls while I'm gone. She came over last night for a beer. She also noticed Daisy acting like a pigeon. Don't know why shes flying around so much. Guess shes just in the mood. That or she's planning the great escape. My sitter thinks she just feels good with the weather not as hot. Annie doesn't fly. I don't think she realizes she can. Maybe Daisy is rubbing her beak in the fact she can fly and Annie can't/won't. I sure wish I knew what goes on in those little turkey brains.

Cute bird HeritageHenNut!

Aurora...you've got cool birds! It amazes me how much my girls love attention. Here is a hideous picture of Daisy getting a neck rub. Wasn't going to post this....but reminded me of your Phil story.

Oh Ralphie....you've missed so much! Lots of cute bugged eyed babies. Some with mysterious colors...origins unknown. Lots of crazy broody hens...the Silver Snake. Lots of wonderful momma birds...we learned sometimes it takes a village! Birds being silly, birds being sweet, birds acting like pigeons. Kathy even picked up some fun turkey poop trivia. We've been having a fun summer!

Interesting....the rise in heritage bred birds being sought out. I of course think they can make great pets!
And yes Turkey Times....you need to get npip certification!! Your flock is so interesting....folks that want yard candy would be lining up!!
I've figured out that I could visit my uncle in PA and swing by Aurora's to pick up Cuddles....but alas... she won't give me her address! LOL!
I really am blown away with what interesting birds everyone is breeding this year! Too many birds, too little time!!!! But seriously, we've had some cool birds bred this year....

I've been hanging in St. Louis since Wednesday. Nephew got married. Word from my chicken/turkey sitter is that Daisy is still hopping around. Apparently Daisy did touch and goes the full length of the yard & back. Sounds like Daisy continues to practice her flying. I've just decided she simply likes to fly. My chickens are too fat to get off the ground, Annie never flies....maybe Daisy is just showing off....
