70's is too cold for swimming! But R2elk makes a good point about clothing! I guess I like it warmer. It's the humidity that kills us here.

My girls were unusually fussy this morning. They were yapping away in their pen. Let them out into the big yard, headed into the house, and they were pacing & screaming their beaks off. Went back out & sat with them awhile. They hung out a bit then wandered off to forage & I snuck back to the house. They seem fine now. Not sure what their issue was...

Ralphie...they are too cute. Love it!

I was out weeding & trimming in the front. Of course the girls came along. Had hands full of shears & weeds & got tangled in some plant stakes. Literally did a face plant in my front yard. Had to sit there a bit before I got up. Both girls came & sat with me. Two neighbors drove by, honked & waved. I'm sure we looked odd. Just the three of us sitting around. I just petted on them till I could get up. They were no help getting me to my feet. But they seemed to be sympathetic. Sort of....

17 inches of snow! I'd rather deal with a deadbeat relative!! Weatherdorks have us under a severe thunderstorm warning. Storms through the weekend.
Girls won't be happy. I tend not to cater to their whims whilst its storming. However, they are not as ambitious as the chickens. Hanging out on their roosts is not an issue for them.
R2elk...I give the girls a few beak fulls of BOSS when they go into their pen. I have a plastic cup full. When they walk into their pen they automatically turn around and get to grab a beak full from the cup. Not a lot per day. Just their little treat.

Oh...and digging around my gardens this week I've uncovered several grubs. Now that is a highly prized treat! No wonder they hang close when I have my shovel out! If I'm walking around with a shovel in my hand, every chicken & turkey will follow behind me. As I dig, every beak is poised ready to grab a worm or grub. Takes me twice as long to dig a plant as most folks. Each shovel full and hole is inspected. My garden friends think its hysterical....I'm trying to dig something up and all these birds are standing wing to wing in a circle surrounding the dig site.

Outch....hope your eye is okay. I have a sort of black eye after my face plant the other day. Smushed my glasses into the corner of my eye. It's a lovely lavender color. Making me look like I have eye shadow on one eye & not the other. Using a bit of coverup makes it look weirder. And...as I had the girls grazing yesterday some poor sap walked by with a baby in a stroller. He was visiting friends down the street. Well!!...a baby for Daisy and a stroller for Annie to inspect . They were on him like a cheap suit. As he was taking pics of the girls, he said he was so confused walking toward us because he thought they looked like turkeys but couldn't believe his eyes. He petted the girls....said he'd never touched a turkey before.
