The weatherdorks show us getting as much as 15" of rain in the next three days. I'm hoping they get this forecast wrong...which they mostly do....but with my luck they've nailed it.

Spent a few hours this morning sitting with mine & catching up on email. I had a breakthrough last evening. Was sitting in my chair with them before bedtime. Daisy was standing there and picked off a mosquito. The penciled observed this and about 15 minutes later she picked one off too!! So looks like they will continue Daisy's habit of being my best mosquito defense!
They are still doing the horizontal tail spread and no J poops yet. I KNOW it doesn't mean anything! It just gives me hope!!
Aurora....with all you've got going on I'm impressed you have time to sew! Much less taking pics! But am looking forward to them!
Ralph....cant wait to see you pics! Just love the " Guess the Variety " game!!!

I'm bragging....but my penciled poults is really getting pretty. I'll try to update pics tomorrow between hurricane deluges. The mottled is a few weeks behind with its juvie feathers so looks kind of scruffy right now!

Grey rainy day. Supposed to get worse tonight through tomorrow. Storms & tornadoes possibility on the agenda. You'd think with all the junky weather it would at least cool off a bit....but no....hot & muggy.

And I'm a morning person. Not that I want to be. Just is what it is I guess. On the flip side....I'm usually toast by 9 at night. The best thing about being an early bird is running the dogs before it gets too hot. I have spot lights out back and it's not beyond me to do a little training about 4:30 in the morning. Or housework. The lights hit the chicken coop so I get chickens in a bit of a stupor pouring out of the doorway. And there is Daisy softly trilling from the depths of her pen. She will not get out of bed that early! Lazy Daisy!

Nap attack! I like that R2elk! I too started life as a night owl. It's so peaceful early. I rather like it. Plus I have my best energy load in the mornings.
I remember....a hundred years ago...getting off work on a Friday evening, loading dogs & driving 12 hours through the night to be at a stock trial in Weatherford, TX by 7 the next morning. Solo, with NO CELL PHONE!! Now I panic if I'm 2 blocks from the house and don't have it!! Sure couldn't do that these days....much less with out a cell phone!
