R2elk you are so right! Nothing worse that a 30 degree day with high humidity. It gets you chilled & you just can't warm up. And Ralph....other than the mosquitoes, did enjoy ND!

JR, nice looking bird. They have a reputation for being very human friendly. If I ever decide to get another rooster I'd love to have some sort of gamefowl. I think they are interesting.

All my turkeys/chickens get locked into coops at night. Just too much of a wimp to let them sleep loose at night. I'm usually out with them an hour or so before birdy bedtime. Its a peaceful time. All the egg laying drama is over for the day.

Had a little incident with the turkey girls this morning. I have an electrical pole in the far back corner of my yard. XFinity showed up early and used a ladder to get up the pole to repair something. Both turkey hens saw this, hopped on top of my 6' fence and proceeded to bark their beaks off at the poor guy. I was totally unaware, was in the house getting ready for work when his co-worker started pounding on my door. The guy was scared of them and wouldn't come down the ladder. It was kind of funny. But they were raising a racket! You know how they can be when something weird in their world is happening!!

Great stories! Turkeys are too funny. I swear if my girls are loose by my back door I'd never be robbed. Not that I have, just saying. I'm betting they would be a better deterrent than a dog. People really don't know what to think when confronted with a turkey.

Feisty I'm going to agree with you about the Bourbons. Annie is always the first to investigate anything new. Including people! Daisy is more laid back & such a sweetie. They definitely have different personalities. Turkeys are just fun! Its almost no fun in the garden without them helping me.

Feedman....was wondering about your rain. Hate you had that much water. I'm glad to hear you've started demo on the old house. Bet that's a big project. Keep us posted.
