Wow Feedman! You're on a roll with the hatching!! Now hatch me a Narri hen!

Annie is molting. Noticed a feather here and there last week. This week I'm knee deep in red feathers and shes one huge quill. I thought she molted last fall. But then she went broody for a bit. Not sure if that had anything to do with it....or maybe the weather. :idunno
Weird timing. Unlike my chickens, she is NOT being body shamed by the flock for lack of feathers. She could care less about her spotty baldness!

Yeah, that was a weird looking typo. All are currently healthy. Fat & fluffy, except for Annie. They look so scraggly during a molt. But new feathers are so gorgeous! I'll take some glamour shots when she's done!

I think Snitch is just a talker. Annie is like that. Daisy doesn't say much unless she's looking for me or sees a hawk. She will trill back when I talk to her. Annie reminds me of how you used to describe Ethel....she will walk up & stand there chattering away. They both have very different personalities.

I do have a question about the birds you have in the barn...do they get exposed to the sun? I was reading something about vitamin D requirements & deficiencies and how it can affect birds. But it was awhile ago and cant remember the source of the study.

Nothing beats a lapper! Notice her little mohawk on top of her head.

Romeo...the star of the show!! I bet those kids loved him! How cool. I think its great when kids get a chance to interact with animals they don't normally get a chance to meet.

Rjohn, I just lean a pallet up against a wall.

Yesterday I went wheeling out the back gate with the girls in tow only to run into a guy changing the gas meter on the house next door. Not sure who was more startled....him or Annie, he had a hardhat on! After everyone was introduced and he removed the offending hat, he ended up holding Daisy & I took a selfie of him. He'd never met a turkey before. While we were taking pictures, Annie was rustling through his tool box. LOL!

Its beyond me why shes molting NOW!

Ralph, all my birds love exploring my garage. Bet Snitch had a blast! All kinds of thing to inspect. Had all kinds of fun tools out today working in the yard. Turkeys were fully engaged. They just have to stck their beaks into everything!

So do most of ya'll have your turkeys sorted into breeding pens? Aurora, do you sort yours into breeding pens? Feisty, will you let Big Bird have a close encounter with one of the Bourbon Boys?
