It's in the 60's again this morning. We are on track for setting a record for the coolest August on record. Not complaining!
Annie's tail feathers are about 2 inches long now. Poor dear! Feathers are starting to appear again on her back & sides. Such a beautiful dark red. Amazing how much those feathers fade throughout the year.

Low humidity & cooler than normal temps here have my girls all a flutter! They are really enjoying the break in the weather. Me too!!
Annie's tail is making a slow come back. Daisy is still holding tight to her feathers.

Driving up through the delta last weekend I noticed the cotton in bloom. And once in Missouri the corn was browning. I noticed leaves starting to drop in Missouri...only things dropping here are feathers.

Another unusually temperate morning here. I could get used to this! Turkey's helped me water, rendering them "damp". They do love playing in the hose! After watering Annie decided on a dust bath. One damp rather bald turkey making a mud pie of herself! Blah!

And how cool to see all the wild hens with their babies?
So...was getting ready to take the girls on their evening stroll. Ran in the backdoor to feed dogs before we set off. Friend of mine from work was in the neighborhood ( looking at a house for sale) & stopped by. Had them follow me to the kitchen to finish feeding dogs when they spied two turkey heads staring in the back door. I guess they didn't realize I had turkeys. They were quite startled. It was pretty funny.
