You know....I think some of the funniest pictures posted here is Kathy's pea-porn collection! As many times that I've seen that one shot with that camera case, it still kills me!
My girls started their molt earlier than normal this year. And I was noticing their neck feathers seems to be ridding higher on their necks. They look like they are wearing turtle neck sweaters. Cashmere of course. Also noticed Annie has a bunch of tiny little feathers along her lower beak. Never seen her grow those before. She also has quite a thick load of feathers making her look a bit pudgy. Fat & fluffy right before Thanksgiving is not a good look. Daisy is still growing in feathers. But she too is really growing a thick bunch of neck & head feathers. Probably reading more into this than I should...early molt, turtle neck sweaters....keep thinking they know more about our impending winter than the forecasters.

Turkeys are eye candy...I love the intricacy of their feather colors & markings. I have a blue slate & a bourbon red. Compared to some of the birds around here (Pebbles, Mr. T come to mind) mine are a bit boring. Sfgwife, I'd go for a Porters surprise pack in a second! I'd love to add more birds...but I keep talking myself out of it. My two girls are sweet & personable pets and easy for me to manage. Maybe one day I'll take the plunge and add more turkeys. I'd love to have a Tom....I wish Holm would just relent & let me kidnap Mr. T !
