Ralph...I'm right there with ya. If I had to choose...it would be my turkeys.

My baby Sussex are getting close to going into the coop with the cranky 'ole hens. They've been free ranging during the day with the flock. But I put them in their baby pen at night. The turkeys are still keeping an eye on them. If a chicken hen starts to chase them, they run to a turkey moma. Boy are they cool little birds. You can reach down & snatch one up with no screaming. They still hop into my lap. So happy to have little SS around again....its been too long.

Rjohns, this pup is only 4 months old....he just stood there staring at the birds. With a little behavior modification he'll be fine with them. After all....he's a scent hound, not a sight hound or bird dog. I worry more about my stock dogs...with their herding instincts.
R2elk...she's good looking! I love that baying when they hit a tree! My dad hunted Bluetick. I find the Walkers a bit more pleasing physically. Seem a bit more athletic than most of thee coonhounds.

Ralph is right. Just getting a sporting dogs attention is half the battle. I'm spoiled with Aussies. I think they are born guilty. It's going to be interesting for me with this scent hound. He has no interest in my fowl. My turkeys, especially Daisy, are still in a snit. They are now almost through their molts. Boy do they look good. I'll try to get some pictures. Annie, who is farther along, grew such beautiful deep red feathers! Daisy's spots seem bigger this year. Girls are looking good!!
