Yooper, here is my professional lapper, Daisy. Hops in my lap & takes a nap. Comes in handy on cold days. On hot days we require a fan.

We've been hit by a cold front. It's been only in the high 80's! I can really tell a difference in the birds. They've really perked up. The excessive heat was really wearing on them. It won't last long, but the break is welcome relief! It's been so bad I even suspended training with my hound pup. So he's been back in boot camp the last two days. We are working on self control. Lordy he's a handful! The only thing I've got going for me is that I'm more stubborn than he is....I think he's finally figuring that out!
One of my turkeys laid an egg in one of the wading pools...what the heck is that about?

Mister wants his share of attention! Before getting my turkeys I would never have believed they could be "snuggly ". (R2elk is rolling his eyes at us turkey snugglers!) I think that's what fascinates my neighbors....huggable turkeys! Especially when they see their kids with Daisy. I do have to explain to them I spend a lot of time with my birds. Not all are so user friendly. One of my biggest pet peeves is adults letting children walk up to dogs assuming they are friendly & like kids. I don't have kids. My dogs are not used to kids. I sort of remind kids & parents to ask before hugging turkeys like you would before petting someone's dog. LOL!
