R2elk....YOUR KILLING ME!! One of those guys with my girls would produce every one of my dream birds! I even quickly calculated my frequent flyer mileage. By the way...years ago....I was flying somewhere and could hear a rooster crowing down in the cargo hold the whole trip.
Ralphie....maybe I drive, pick you up on the way & we could raid R2elks birds!! Only problem is I would be hard pressed to come back with just one handsome bird! Boy that would be a long trip....however, if R2elk made kraut & sausage, chicken noodle soup & a pie....I may consider it!!

Ralph....sorry to hear about Bertha. Hoping for the best.

Aurora...sounds like that broody cage is coming in handy. Brilliant solution for Pebbles!

Cold rain here again. May even get some sleet/snow this afternoon as the temps drop. Got home yesterday at dusk. The girls had not gone to bed yet & were roosting on the back porch rail. Got two big fluffy hen hugs. Had a rotten day at work....but all was forgotten after a few hen hugs!! Best stress relievers ever!

That's it R2elk! Trips off!! LOL! I think I'd rather have the kraut anyway!!

Its miserable here. 55 this morning, rained all day, temps dropped like a rock into the 20's. I kept the girls in there run. I don't like them going to bed wet in such cold weather. I did go visit them. Filled their feeder & gave them a few beaks full of BOSS. Few hugs. But they still cried when I left. Poor things. They don't understand....

Aurora, was wondering what was going on with the MIL. Was afraid to ask. At least it's for only a week! I still think you need to set up a broader wherever shes sleeping!! Good luck!

Fairly warm & sunny today & tomorrow. Then the bottom falls out Monday evening. I hate it for the turkeys...although, I know they will be fine. And I don't think they mind the cold. But I still want to bundle them up. I also literally have to drag this coonhound out the door when it gets cold. He got another possum the other night. Heard him chopping. The possum was backed into a corner. Nothing but teeth. I could tell he wasn't sure how to approach it. Tried to grab him to take him inside. Heck with that....it caused him to go straight in. Sigh....
