R2elk...those babies are adorable! Did you give your hen some older ones yet? Once my babies get a bit bigger Daisy can momma them. They are actually in a big wire crate in her pen. They are so small I'm afraid they can squeeze out of her pen. I had to wrap the wire crate with small chicken wire to prevent them getting out.

Friend got two poults for pets. No other turkeys or chickens. She says they are both going to be toms. Can two toms live peacefully together with no hens? Add he says they are both really sweet. But they are young....

So I've had my babies for a week now. The mottled is laid back and in lapper training. She/he will relax & enjoy a snood pet in my lap. The penciled finally quit screaming! Got to the point of just trying to run from me. I can now hold her and she's starting to relax a bit & just stare at me. This is weird, coming from me who has spent a career in a mans industry, but I'm betting the penciled is a hen due to the over dramatics. Spent the first several days just sitting with them. No pressure. Been fun! Remember it's my first time with poults!! So learning/observing a bunch!

Well....if I had three hands I'd do pics! Everytime I reach for the camera, phone, they get flappy. So I just set it back down. More important for them to have a good experience with me right now. I'm probably too cautious with them. Need to get someone to get down here & help me.

Ok, ok....will be trying for pics later today. The ones of them loose in the crate usually end up with their heads through the bars & all ya get are little turkey butts!

Yeah...mowing has been an issue here too. We have turf grass down here....takes forever to dry enough to mow and it seems to rain every other day. Then it sends up seed pods that look like Turkey feet. And the turkeys love to strip the seeds off.
