Tropical fish keeping aquarium emergency! Need advice!

I can read something about Acetic Acid there on the label which sounds like the one you need from what I've read online.

Yes!!! :yesss: Thank you for having my back on this! I was definitely intimidated with this undertaking alone!

As long as you can keep filtration and oxygen working you'll be ok. You want to keep your water.

I actually took a eyeball measurement and it looks like I'm going to ge able to hook my filtration Steen right up on the ice chests! I have the mounted ones that hang on the inside of the tank instead of off the back. Nothing fancy here unfortunately but in this case it may be in my benefit!

I used to breed Bettas pre children! We haven't had a tank since moving house but my husband would love some Oscars. I prefer the little fish.

Too weird as high schoolers my sister and I bred Bettas to supply the pet store. It's been so long ago and she was definitely the brains of that operation but it was a blast seeing what the babies would look like and our rooms had Betta tanks all over the place! We even raised our own bribe shrimp in make shift shrimp hatcheries made from 2 liter coke bottles. This brings back fun memories. My husband likes native fishes and at one point we actually kept a few pumpkin seed which are incredibly beautiful in a natural tank with driftwood but I wanted a community for this tank and wanted to try to come close to a natural habitat as possible. I tried to find blackwatee fish native to parts of the Orinoco river so I could have as close to a true biotope as possible. It was my obsession and latest learning experience prior to chickens.

I don't now. Used to keep bass and cat fish. Hope to do it again soon.

You sound like my husband! We've never kept them past more than about 4 inches bc never have a lg enough tank to keep them and other fish that they don't eat but they were fun! Are you from the southern u.s. too? Something gives me the impression. My hubby and I have kept bass, bream, perch aka sacalay, goggle eye (test time-pretty sure this is a. Strictly southern name for this fish) and several other native species. My faves were my pretty pumpkin seeds! I did keep these for a while!

I'm currently breeding finches and cinnamon bourkes parakeets. I have a Java finch who likes to sit on eggs but is a terrible mother. She's attacked her newborns twice now, nipping off toes and squashing some, and I'm currently hand raising my eighth and ninth Java chicks! It's so frustrating but they were born in a thunderstorm (very unusual for us) and they are highly strung creatures anyway so I don't know if it's just down to stress. But she's already laid another 7 eggs before I've realised what she's up to! They make very sweet hand raised pets though. So that's my current obsession!

I'd love a fish tank again one day. Fish are relaxing to watch. Did you say you have Diamond tetras? They are so, so pretty! I also love little gouramis, threading rainbowfish, ember tetras, all the teensy ones.

Hope all your fish have made the move to their temporary accommodations ok.
