trouble duck

"Measure a quarter inch of suppository or about half an inch of cream and give orally twice a day for seven days. Do not stop treatment before the full seven days are completed or the yeast may return. "

Do understand crop statis is most often a symptom of the underlying condition, but to get her in good shape we need to start off by treating the crop problem first.
I hate to be too excited, but after one dose last night she is already trying to clean herself again. Her crop is not as big. She is not eating but appears to be a little better. I have another duck that is doing the same so we have started him on the same treatment. Man I hope this works. Thank you! Crossing our fingers over here! They still want to drink a ton of water.

Unfortunately, after trying as hard as we could. She has passed away. The second duck started acting the same and he passed as well. Thank you for all your help!

I'm very sorry for your losses. A lot of the time it can be hard to determine what the problem is without any diagnostic equipment they have at a vet office. A crop not emptying (crop stasis) most often is a result of an underlying problem. Since you have a natural water source in their area, we do have to consider the possibility of the birds ingesting insects/invertebrate carrying parasites like Flukes. Decaying vegetative matter near the pond can be a harbor fungal, or yeast spores, or anaerobic bacteria like Clostridium.

If you have any more problems, please let us know.
