My neighbors didn't know that they would die if they left them alive, so they kept, like, 5 of them. The rooster died in a cold snap - not sure about the hens though

Yeah, they get slaughtered at like 7 weeks. For myself, I'd rather have a slower growing but healthier meat bird.

Me too. Delawares were the original broiler for 20 years, until they figured out cornish rocks

They grow fast, but not crazy fast - and they're gorgeous, which is always just a plus XD

I've also heard that true Delawares are getting hard to find. They're really pretty!
