The first batch was from a local breeder, the silkie hen was from the jockey lot, and the Rhode island reds and leghorns were from tractor supply

Good job on getting some of your birds from a breeder!
But feed stores are a cool way to go as well...

@dan26552@HeavensHens88 Yeah I like the feed store and the breeder idea so a little bit of both lol! Yeah I had to walk right by the chicks for years and not get any, but now I have somewhere to put them and my heart is screaming for me to go but more, but I am holding myself together. I will have too many eggs as it is lol! Really the only reason I can hardly not hold myself together is because there is one more breed I reeeeeeeeeally want and tractor supply has it so I have just have to stand there in awe then keep walking. Nope... No more chickens

Barred Rocks! I love the way they look, they lay a good amount of eggs, and are supposed to be soooooo sweet!

Lol! Stay away from TSC barred rocks, they look nothing like proper BRs find a good breeder. (though I suppose if you just have to have them TSC is ok.)

They were my first chickens!
And about my rooster.... His only purpose in life was to make me bleed...
