Alright, let's go see if my duck is acting weird agian, she was in the box late last night. (They're never in the box)
Broody?
Possibly, she's been in the box really late the past couple of days and she did go broody last year at the tender age of eight months, became a mom at nine months and raised up three ducklings. And this is a Pekin we're talking about.
Wow! Will you let her hatch?
If she is broody I might let her set on next weeks batch. The thing is though if I let her go than I'm down to 4 eggs a day till Princess Leia starts as I lost a duck yesterday.and she probably won't lay for another two or three months after she sits, I'll let my sister decide whether or not to let her set. She did get a good hatch rate for a first time, 6 out of 10, it was after they hatched the other ducks started fighting (apparently all my females wanted to be moms but didn't want to sit.
