Dan, posting a picture of one of my pullets I was talking about yesterday. It's not great, but it shows some of her coloring. Her front is all buff/brown (another day I'll try to post a picture from a different angle). She is 17 weeks old today, 1 lb 13 oz and survived a dog attack. Her mom is an EE, LF and lays pretty blue eggs.

Possible dwarf gene?

She's pretty! Wow, that's tiny. It's possible I suppose. Have you hatch more of that hens eggs?

Yeah, I know! And she's one of the bigger little ones. I call them waddle hens cuz they have short little legs and waddle.

I have hatched four or five, this one and a pullet three weeks younger than her are the only ones that are alive. Both cockerels died. I do plan on hatching more.

Me too.
and with 34 more coming (asumming we don't lose too many ) I think we should be seeing around 4 or 5 maybe 6 dozen eggs a day.
I am not a master, this only really my second year.... What are you currently doing for it?

That's like 35 dozen eggs a week mine are only going to do like... 4 dozen a week lol!

11 Australorps, 12 if you count the dead one, 13 EEs, 14 if you count the dead one, and 8 Sussex, none of those were dead but one doesn't look too well. :/



And if I did my math right that puts us at about 89 to 90 layers and 109 rangers so between 198 to 199 chicks.

I don't we eat that many eggs in two weeks. Guess I better make a bigger bator.
