I love the Wyandottes :love However at least two have single combs. :/ (doesn't necessarily mean they're not pure, just not what I was hoping for.)


Aw that sucks :/ roseco!mb and single comb genes get mixed up pretty easily - at least they should have a pretty diverse gene pool, so not as much inbreeding! :D

I also am dying for a Lakenvelder.They are soooooo pretty.And D'Anvers and D'Uccles!!

Yeah. It comes from their Cochin ancestors and some people keep it in since it's said rosecomb birds have lower fertility so the single combs are used to up it. Don't know how true the fertility part is. True.

Ah well.

I've heard of that happening with hatchery quality. But they should still be pretty, and good layers!

My piano teacher has a single combed dotte. Its a psycho chicken XD
