Ok. Are you adding any extra niacin? Ducks require more than chicks so if you're feeding them chick feed it's recommended to supplement it. You can use Brewers yeast (nutrienel yeast) Tumeric or parsley.

my leghorn mix is 3 weeks and is a cockerel for sure!!! his comb look like a big knot on his head! his mom is a Rosecomb brown leghorn and dad a HUGE 2nd gen. RSL with about a his single comb is massive!

Gaaaaaaaaaaargh I just picked up Hannah and a bunch of mites crawled onto my arms! I've never had a single mite infestation before and now she seems to be the only one!!!! What can I do, being the chicks are due to hatch in like 3 days? I just cleaned out the nest bedding, dusted with DE, but now I have the matter of Hannah to deal with. The most mites are around her tail....

Get some wood ash, that worked mostly for me, other people use that too. Just keep dusting. And dust the box. You have to dust about once a week for around a month till all the eggs hatch and die.

Wood ash. Got it. I keep a ton of it for dust bathing material. Thanks, Dan. I DEed her already, and she looks MAD. Can't imagine how irritated she'll get with the ash...
