Can, that Rir you are suspicious of is definitely a cockerel...
So, my poor little Guinea hen is injured. :/ Her head up where that weird headgear is coming in is like split...I put on this spray which is kind of like Blu Kote and put her back with the cock. Only thing I can think of is that my cock tried to mate with her. I think/hope she'll be ok!
Sounds either like your cock was too rough or that she somehow rammed her head hard enough into the pen's wire(?). My one cock completely severed his crest off like that- but he lived!![]()

Whoa!!! Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was the cock - wire wouldn't be able to get that spot easily.
Well, sounds like you did the right thing.
I'm so debating removing Hannah right now- whenever the chicks peek out from beneath her, she pecks them. What do you guys think I should do?
Just responded to that on Isabella's thread, lol! I'd leave her. Broodies do that ALL the time especially with young chicks, to get them back under. At least a day or two longer, and watch her. She'll probably do better when she's not inside in a little box, too. That can be stressful.
