If he doesn't look in PERFECT condition (clean butt fluff, healthy comb/wattles, little to no feather loss), I would quarantine him. Go with your gut. If he seems healthy, then just use the playpen method for about a week or more. When you let him out I would turn them all loose so they can free range. That gives them a way to gfet away from each other, and distracts them from being mean.

I pray he does ok because I have been looking for one for about a week and I couldn't find one. I finally found one that was free, and they actually still had him. The reason they are giving them away is because they are pet quality, not show quality and most of there silkies are show quality. He was free with an order from a hatchery
