Gosh, Dan, your dogs are so stinking cute!! But bobs soft eyes alway get me!

Your dog sounds so much like mine!

Three weeks...:th

Did you bottle feed him?

Maybe it is herding breeds that need more training bc Boaz is also some herding.

Always nice to have a dog you can trust!

I helped a friend start 5-week old pups.... By the time they left for new homes they knew all basics... Sit, lay down, stay, come, etc.

It actually is better to start young like all you did when you first get them.... Just Never get a abused, scared, nipping 5-month old dog... 2-yeaes of training and we are still working on things... He also has to be trained everyday so he stays in a good mood and keeps him occupied. Not an easy dog!

I disagree. :P My dog Cookie, she was abandoned here when she was 4-5 months old. Terrified, starving and crawling in fleas. She was tiny! About 7 lbs at 4-5 months (we only knew age because she had all her incisors).

Well, she got lots of baths, love and food. She got more confident and bit ALL the time! In play, of course, but it still hurt. Now she's about nine months old, I think. Her biting problems are much better! She only mouths a little when she's really excited. She's also grown a lot, I weighed her a couple days ago and she is 40+ pounds and still growing.

We also have her brother now. He was abandoned around the same time she was, but he didn't come here for a while. So we got him as an even older, terrified puppy. He's doing very well and bigger than his sister.

Aren't they?! :D

Lol no no! We didn't get him till he was seven weeks but we picked him out at three weeks. He was weaned when we got him.

Usually herding breeds tend to require more work.
