I'll be praying everything goes fine. I've never had piglet births, the only large animal birth I've had was a cow, and the mom died of milk fever...I can't wait! I really hope everything goes well.

I've had goats give birth but they always go off by themselves or wait till I'm not around.
, it was sickening, those were my 4-H hogs and I put a ton of time and effort into them to not even be able to enjoy the meat. (Still makes me upset and mad even though it was last June.)
Can goats get milk fever? That is what got our cow, and it was not cool. She was a purebred registered Jersey and the lady that sold her to us for 11,000 knew she was screwed up.Me too.
The last four have been sent off as we don't have the ability to lift a 300+ lb hog. (And they have been 300+ when they go to the butcher, my 4-H pigs were about 325/330 and 315/320, and the gilts were 3something and 290somwthing) Two went to one butcher, WILL NEVER go back there, my two BARROWS came back reeking of boar and some of the meat was bad before we even got it.
The last butcher was not as bad and all the meat was good but still not what we're looking for, the problem is not many people do hogs around here.

Yes, they can... I have never dealt with it but our friends lost one of there milkers to it.
