The promised recipe... and directions in case it helps
ARGGGH the recipes are gone! Gremlins in me kitchen at nite! And the worst part is I just saw it a month or so ago. As soon as I finish typing what I remember of it, it will come dancing out and laugh at me.
I just put a batch in the solar oven... it's 104 in the shade on the porch already, so will probably be 400 in there. (bad idea... it boiled over big time)
I remember it as: (see below for the right proportions... I can't find a strikeout command)
1/2 cup sugar, 1/2 cup honey, 2 T lemon juice: microwave til all the sugar is dissolved, I think 30 seconds at a time as it will boil over.
LET COOL before using.
I make & store it in a low wide mouth mason 'jar', 8 oz I think. It came with homemade jam in it. Perfect container for this. If it were less sticky I'd make it in something deeper then transfer it over, because it usually boils over at least once.
Nuke it for about 10 sec to soften before using. Use with wood tongue blade or plastic spatula from the brand name stuff.
Smooth on thin layer, in direction of hair growth, smooth on a rectangle of muslin or other fabric, pull skin taut, pull fabric in opposite direction, jump up & down & say oweee, blot with cool wet cloth, pat on witch hazel infused with aloe vera & rosemary. Soak cloths in sink, rinse & hang on tub to dry.
Go have a 'refreshment' of choice
Actually not a bad idea to start with that as well. water... iced tea
**update... Recipe found!
It was in hall closet with the wax. Duh!
Anyway... I was off on proportions... sorry and I hope no one wasted supplies yet. It still works with the above, just not as well.
Juice of Half a Lemon
1 cup sugar
1/4 cup honey
