Trying to Clean House

How's this for cool? My dh thoroughly cleaned our living room on New Years Eve and it is STILL clean!!!!!! No comment on the shiny sink.

would have been so nice to wake up to a shiny sink...

But I have a bit to do before it gets there. Ask me where I went wrong, go ahead ask me. Well, I'll tell ya. I reminded DS to put the dishes away so I could load dishwasher. and he didnt.

I even vacuumed at 8pm last nite!

My house is still clean too from New Year's--I only think it is because the whole fam went to the Dells for the week and I was home alone! Seems pretty easy when it's only you. I have been sweeping the floor 2xday now and I will say that it has made a hugh difference. I have too many cats and dogs in the house so there is always something to sweep(or mop) up. And yes, my sink was grinning at me today! I didnt even have to use it because I set up the coffee pot last night. Off to work--have a great day! Terri O in WI

I finally did 5 loads of laundry yesterday. I ironed everything and put it all away.

I'm so glad that's all done. I have one more bed to strip and wash now. It's a beautiful sunny day here and we might even go above freezing!! I'm going to get out a bucket of hot water and start washing everything down in the livingroom. The woodstove is quite alot to keep up with this time of year.

I also promised the girls I'd wash out the coop this afternoon if the temps actually cooperate. We're already at 28* so they may actually get a good housecleaning too today!!

It hit 50* here today!!! Ok, so we've had 2" of rain but it let up this afternoon and I got ALL my window cleaned

I washed down all my doors too. I'm thrilled. I have a thing about dirty windows so it's just such a pleasure to have a chance to clean them mid-winter.

It's clearing now and I still have about 4" of snow on the ground with alot of ice, but I'm going out to the dog yard now for pooper-scooper duty before it all freezes up again tomorrow. I'm just thankful this was rain and NOT snow

Didn't need any heat today either - feels like summer to us northerners

I try to go room to room, but with my kids once I clean one area they see it and attack it again. The best I can do most of the time is keep the kitchen clean and roughly run around and tidy the rest.
Clean rooms are an invite to my children to mess it up again. Then I have all my animals, especially the cat will see something I have moved to dust and its his invite to mess around with it. If I leave it there with the dust he doesn't bother with it. Then you have my husband that leaves a trail of dirty clothes and shoes throughout the house and wonders why he can never find a pair of socks. Then you have me. Everytime I do the wash, after washing, hanging out, folding and putting everyone elses clothes away, I never have the time or energy to do mine. So I have a great big basket in my room for the clean clothes that have never made it to my drawers.

So don't worry about it. A house is a home, when it is lived in and it isn't lived in unless there is some kind of mess.

Here's a hug (
