trying to confirm our new additions!

I am far from an expert, but with so much light yellow these chickens will likely grow up to be mostly white. But the dark under the wing feathers has me a bit thrown off. I am wondering if they could be Delawares? Delaware is not far from Rhode Island LOL. Post an update when they get bigger!

You are now the second to think maybe Delaware. They said the same thing you did, hard to tell as babies. I thought I was going crazy because I couldn't figure it out! Lol! But so not RIR!! Lol!! Will post more pics once they start getting bigger!! Thanks so much!

Here are some updated pics of the chicks. Not 100% sure if they are Delaware but they look like they are going to be. I have I think 3 hens and 3 rooster...I think! Lol!

This one is one of the hens...I hope

This is the one I think is a rooster.
They sure are fun!

They do look like Delawares :) very cute.

Why do you think that one is a roo? At that age you'd need to look at the comb. If you post pics of his(?) face, people can help tell you if you're likely right. The other one does look like a pullet so far.

Thank you monicainAZ for the tip on the faces and combs. I was thinking it is a Rooster do to the heavy feathers and it has large feet. A few readings say that those are characters of Delaware Roosters. I will try to get some face pictures too and have some help. I have three with large combs and three with smaller ones. They are sooo much fun!

Yea, definitely not RIR or ISA. They do look a lot like Delaware, but when buying from places like hardware stores and TSC sometimes the birds aren't the "best" color for breed. They could be Delaware, but I'd let them feather a little more. I bought what are suppose to be silver laced wyandottes, but if mine are they certainly don't like like they fit breed standard for perfection (they were suppose to be from private breeder, but appearance doesn't seem to be great for SLW).

Also, I mean NO offense to anyone. I've had my run in with a hardware/livestock supply store that left me feeling a little bit "bitter".

Hi all! Just wanted to post some new pics of my little feathered friends! They are growing fast and slowly finding their roles. The Roosters are definitely getting more and more noticeable. So far so good!! Loving this while chicken thing!
