I knew it would happen sooner or later but at 4 weeks they are trying to leave the brooder so I had to put alid on them. I walked out the the garage and this is what I saw.

Forgive the garage, we had just moved. These are my 2 suspicious looking "pullets" that I think might be roos. They are like Dr Jeckly and Mr Hyde.. and now they are teaming up and trying to escape.. maybe they heard me talking about rehoming them.

Well not craigslist.. a guy my hubby works with will take them.
and Yes it is a baby playpen, I saw some other people using them and actually it has been the perfect brooder. It was recalled, and my human baby was too big for it so I re-purposed it. I am so glad I did.
I have a lid on it no so they can't fly out again. We wont get our coop til Saturday and I still have to paint it. So these guys/girls will have to hang in there a little longer.

Could get worse.

My two chicks Ellie & Missie started scaring me while they were still in their brooder. I would hear strangling noises from the other room & come running. They would look at me just fine.

Finally I realized that though they were a precociously young age, they were protesting their names with their blossoming juvenile voices. I renamed them Elder & Mister.
