Can anyone tell me where I can fine Marek's vaccine rather quickly. I've got chicks due to hatch the end of this week and I really need to find the vaccine. The usual supplier is out.
Thanks for any information you have.

I'd also like to know. I made 3 calls yesterday and they were all out of Marek's vaccine, with a backorder at the manufacturer and no idea when it would be filled.

I have a hatch due this week as well. If anyone knows of a source for the vaccine, please post. Thanks.

One
of my problems was spelling..........It's pretty hard the find Marek's vaccine when you spell it Merricks........duh

He says he's getting inundated with calls since no one else has any, so I'd say, hurry. He was very nice and put a rush on mine since my babies are due to hatch on Thurs/Fri.
I've been looking for a long time, so this is just in the nick of time.

Well, I was trying to call them as I wanted to find out if they ship the vaccine with an ice pack. However, the line is busy for quite some time now.....and I really need the stuff!

So I placed the order and will continue to try their phone number.

Thanks for sharing, that really helps me out.!

Yes they do ship with an ice pack and there is normally a charge for it. I guess they will just tack it on. I think he is getting a deluge of calls because of the Marek's shortage. I think he is the only one that has any right now. It's a good thing you went ahead and put in your order, the shipping can be figured out later.

I ended up talking with Peter. Very nice guy. And thanks again for letting me know he had the vaccine.

My hatch has started - 2 chicks overnight, a couple more pips. There are 42 total eggs, hope they'll be more than these handful to hatch!

My hatch started early, they begin pipping yesterday and some zipped last evening. I'm afraid I'm going to miss the window on these chicks.

I guess I'll just put it in the frig for the next batch. This is going to be difficult, the d'Uccle pipped a good 24 hrs before the Cochins. If this is normal, I'll need to anticipate for that in the future and start the d'Uccle eggs a day before the Cochin eggs. Then again, it could have been just this batch. What's a mother to do?

Decisions, decisions.

lilcrow, you can still give them the vaccine. I've even vaccinated 4-5 mo old birds. Others here have vaccinated birds of other ages. If a bird is already exposed, then vaccinating may not help - but it can't hurt anything either. In the case of chicks, I keep them separated anyway - many times they're a couple weeks old before I get around to vaccinating.
I continue to keep them separaed for 10 more days after vaccinating since it's supposed to take that long for the vac to work.

ETA: yellowrose, I normally order from jefferslivestock.com, but they're out.

OK, my chicks are 2 and 2 1/2 days old now, is that too old to vaccinate with the Marek's? They are at a friends house (she incubated and hatched them) and I can go pick them up and I'm sure she wouldn't mind helping me with the vaccinating if it's still and option, there's 19 ?? chicks. I have another hatch coming up of approx. 35 chicks. I've been thinking of holding off and using it for them. Any opinion?
