TSA wants to double security fee

Please cite references. If you can, then I'd like to see a comparison of that list to the list of "world's craziest mass killers" that were not licensed to carry a weapon.

There seems to be a recurring subtle view that anyone who carries a firearm is some kind of redneck backwoods hick with an itchy trigger finger just waiting to draw down at the slightest provocation. That simply isn't the case. The one thing that CCW permit holders realize is that there are consequences to using a firearm in protection of oneself or of another person.

You can do your own research if you don't recall any. Try Google and look at the UK, Norway and the US. Wait, I'll give you a couple to get you started:

No-one has used the word 'redneck' except you. It would be folly to let any civilian walk onto a 'plane with a gun. You won't convince me that it ever would be a sensible thing to do.

If I cannot carry on an airplane then there is really no security too intrusive in my opinion.

I pack when I think I need to... it is a human right to defend yourself.

But not spray lead around an aircraft, for goodness sake.

How do you know what human rights are and at what stage during Darwin's process of evolution did they appear? Rights are given and taken away by laws. The law in most, if not all, countries say that civilians don't walk onto 'planes with guns and there are very good reasons for that. The suggestion that it would be OK is either surreal or a joke.

I love all this fearmongering going on here.

Thousands of flights a day an a hand full of hijackings every 10 years.
And...
In large parts of the US almost 100% of the population owns guns an somewhere around 10% have permits to carry handguns almost everywhere. Guns on planes were normal several years ago. These massive firefights dont happen. Yes every now an then crazy people do crazy things. Guns are not a requirement for that. In the US when some crazy does something bad citizens are the ones who stop them. Self defense shooting happen every day in the US. The good guy shooting up a lot of people while trying to stop the "crazy"? That does not happen.

I had to use my sidearm one time in public. I can tell you I did not pull the trigger till I had a clean shot an all the kids were well clear. Permit holders do not shoot unless they have no other choice cause pulling that trigger is a life changing event no matter how right you are. Odds are you are going to jail and a jury will get to question every second of your actions. An even after them, you have to live with that for the rest of your life. Anyone that thinks armed citizens are jumping a the chance to use there guns an will cause a wild firefight when given the opportunity, yall are the ones that need to quit watching so many movies. Or better yet, go get your permit an learn what it really takes. Then carry a gun for a while an see how gung hoo you are to get in a gun fight.

I think TSA is a joke anyway. A few weeks ago TSA gave a full monte pat down to Henry Kissinger. A former Secretary of State and former Assistant to the President for National Security Affairs is definitely a terrorism risk. They didn't even seem to know who he was. And did you read about the parolee who slipped through a firedoor and onto the tarmac and boarded a plane sans ticket and sans boarding pass? He was caught by the flight attendant when she did a head count and noticed one too many passengers, not by any airport security.

Dying in a car: 1:19,000
Drowning in a bathtub: 1:80,000
Being struck by lightning: 1:5,500,000

Being killed by a terrorist: 1:20,000,000

Working to keep terrorist out of the country an training flight crews to not give in to terrorists is what the government should be doing. Not treating the whole population like terrorists every time they have to travel.
