Ok, so when I first got this one from the bantam bin, I assumed it was a cochin. But then it started feathering in weird and I have zero clue what it is. I will put progression pics in. It looks kinda like a partridge cochin, but I've never seen one with the chick color of him/her. He is about 5 weeks old now. I am guessing it's a cockerel, because that comb is pretty pink, and it's just my luck.

He's so pretty! I wish I could keep him :( I'm gonna hang on to him and see how it goes with my rooster. Marshmallow(my silkie rooster) is a sweetheart and got along with another rooster I used to have so maybe he will be ok. Mr. Peep ( this cochin) is already acting like a rooster a bit. When I give treats, he goes over and makes the rooster noises to let everyone else know there is something good to eat lol. He's so dang cute! View attachment 2707785View attachment 2707787
He does seem like an unusual red cochin.

Hmmmm, I'm now wondering if he's just a goofy looking Red Cochin Bantam. I had another weird chick who was a Red Orpington, but her first feathers looked partridge, so it wouldn't be impossible and would make him a variety actually carried by the hatchery. Definitely continue to update!!
This I think is what's going on. I'll bet that once he molts, he'll be solid red.

He/she doesn't look like a Mille fleur d'uccle to me. I have 3 of them and they all were very different from this one as chicks. Plus he has no beard/muff. And he has the most adorable little poofy tail!
