Okay so when do the TSC Chick Days event start? Isnt it this week? If it has already started, and if any of you visited, what breeds do they have?? And sorry if this isn't the right place to put this,I wasn't sure. ^_^ Thanks.
Our local TSC was supposed to have chicks starting today. I haven't been to see if they actually did, and I am not sure what breeds they were expected to get.
Ours had chicks starting last weekend. Ours had a pretty un-intersting assortment. They had Cornish Crosses, Australorps, Barred Rocks, and various bantams. A few were visibly not doing well.
We don't have a TSC in Las Vegas, but we do have an IFA Country Store and their Chick Days was pretty lame. They had 3 little red banty chicks and 4 blue cochins with pasty butts all flopped over in the feed tub and nothing else.... and some pretty ignorant clerks:
Clerk (looking at me looking at chicks): "They're three days old and really too young to leave their mama, don't you think?"
Me: "Uhmmmm...They don't have mamas, really." And then went on to explain mass incubation and postal practices.
A woman came in and asked for some pretty basic info on cocci and the clerk just said "No" to avoid having to look for product or get more info. It wasn't my cow pie to step in, so I just kept mum even though they carried medicated feed and sulfa products. But, needless to say, I doubt I'll shop there again.
(Actually, I should've asked for a job!)
I was just at our TSC picking up my chick supplies & they did not have any chicks there yet. Oh well, I already ordered mine anyways, but I still wanted to check them out.
Already started last week in Sturgis, Mi. The Family Farm and Home in Coldwater, Mi has had them for a couple weeks. Family Farm and Home had a lot more than TSC, a lot more varieties and even had baby goats
Depends where you're at. The website says Feb 27-May 8th, but mine got them in like yesterday, and they usually sell till mid-May. Silly corporations, they think they can tame chickens!
