TSC chicks!

I know! they are way too messy! I have to clean their cage twice a day because they spill their entire water dish as soon as they get it. But mine love meal worms. We tricked them into liking us with meal worms. That was the hubby's idea.

For duckling use a plastic milk jug etc cut a whole just big enough for their head change jugs when they get taller then the water depth grows as they get older ...and they can't play in it. Keeps their bedding much dryer..I got that tip off of here... it works well..I have 2 new ducklings that just hatched in my incubator right now.

That is a great idea. I am just wondering though if they would run out of water like that but I suppose if they are not playing with it, then it is not such a big issue... thanks!

I was using one of those little poultry waterers and that was kept in a little litter box with shaings in it. but they were going through that water way too fast. However since I got this new bigger waterer, its been a nightmare trying to keep them clean! So I think I will try that milk jug idea.

It will sure be deep enough to wet their faces but now they wont step in it and poop in it. I will give them the big one back when they go outside.

I have to agree, they are quite addictive. All my chickens have come from tractor supply. I have 2 three year old tetra tints-laying really well, 4 three year old EEs, again still going strong in the egg department. 1 rooster that I have no idea what he is as he was suppose to be a tetra tint ??? he is a yearling, and 4 yearling production reds. Now on to the babies. I have 2 of the white rocks, 4 tetra tints, 3 "red pullets" 4 Dixie rainbows, and 4 assorted bantams. All of these babies are in various brooders in my living room. TSC should have another shipment in tomorrow, guess who will be there when she gets done work??? This girl!!!
