TSC now sells bulk feed by Mail

Shop around. I would think that you could find a 16% layer for $14. I pay $14 for a 20% layer and I think it I ordered a pallet they would give me 5-10% off of that.
Bar Ale is in Williams. That is about 40 miles north of me. They do have nice feed and I used to buy it here at a feed store...that is gone and the site has a car wash!

We have TSC and Costco for feed stores in Woodland now

A couple of years ago I had too many for the City and had to downsize. I now have 6 hens so bulk purchases of that size would be too much.

In a couple of years when I retire I plan on moving to the Country and having a lot of chickens and other fowl...maybe goats and or a milk cow...
No other local feed stores around you? What type of feed do you buy for your layers? At my tractor supply a bag of DuMOR layer feed only costs me $14-15 for 50 lb. I've been happy with the brand and don't feed my birds anything special and they're as healthy as ever..
I've lived in the "Country" for all my life and couldn't see myself anywhere else. I wish you the best of luck when the time comes~ :frow If you ever do get a milk cow i'd go with a mini jersey. Cutest things ever and way cheaper to take care of a full-sized jersey. Trust me, my jerseys are worse than my pigs when it comes to feeding them

Are there any small feed mills or Coops around you? I can buy layer feed for about $9 per 50lb bag at my local Coop.

Thanks!
I get layeena or dumor layer depending on the sale price at the time.

I would love a mini Jersey for milk

There is a store in Dixon and one in West Sac that are not too far. Is this the one you get the Pallet deal with?
Retail price at the feed store I shop at is $13.50 for the 16% layer and $14 for the 20% layer. I have not inquired about a pallet discount yet, but will the next time I go in.

the Store in Dixon seems to charge more for feed than other Retail places. I need to call the ones closest to me to see what they charge.
