TSC Sells Ships Chicks?!? Hoover's Hatchery (dropships)

Pics
I just learned the other day that TSC chicks that are special ordered ship to the customer not the store.

Hoovers....while I have not bought directly from them I have purchased many at the feed store that gets them from Hoovers. The ones I bought were strong healthy chicks and lived decently if not excessively long lives.

I've bought from TSC. I've known that they ship from Hoover Hatchery. To my understanding you can get your order shipped to TSC, and get more than a wandered leghorn or Barred rock. However if you order from Hoover, you need to buy a minimum of 15 chicks, and no less than 5 of any breed. They are also bad at sexing chicks.

Here's my "pullet".

My understanding is this.
Pullet= Straight run leaning towards female.
Straight run= cockerel.

Sorry, I shouldn't laugh, but that's funny.

Speaking of hatcheries, does anyone know of any hatcheries in NM? I ordered some chicks through my (local) feed store, and they said they get them from a place in New Mexico. The chicks I've always bought have been accurately sexed and in good health. If anyone knows of the hatchery, could you let me know what it's called? I'd like to know which breeds they have when I order next time.

Yes it is Privett Hatchery in Portales, New Mexico, I have always wanted to go as they have a great variety, but it is to far away and my parents don't want to drive me there.

I also will say that getting them at a feed store I personally think it is better, because if they let you handle the chicks that you want to get, like they did me, you can feather sex them if you know how, and if you get roosters, it will be partially your fault.

Not all breeds can be feather sexed. Just certain crosses
