TSC Sells Ships Chicks?!? Hoover's Hatchery (dropships)

I got lucky and in 10 straight run I got 2 roos, but my dog killed 4 of the pullets, and the roos managed to escape, but we finally butchered 1 which was a Jesrey Giant at 26 weeks old. the other we still have who is a buckeye. One we got them it was really easy to tell the roosters apart, I only got 1 wrong.

Ok, am I just late to the game?
Yup, you are! 😁

A great many TSCs use Hoover’s Hatchery for their in-store chicks and can order chicks through them for customers. I am assuming it depends on region what hatchery a TSC uses, but it sounds like Hoover is a major one.

A friend/kind of co-worker ordered 15 of the three Brahma varieties and I haven’t heard of any issues. The chicks sent to TSC stores are often mislabeled or id’ed in the store, so can’t really comment about sexing accuracy. I’ve heard of vigorous chicks and weak chicks, but a lot of this has to do with shipping and handling and care afterwards.

Hoover also appears to be one of the culprits perpetuating the “Americana” misnomer. They only have EEs.

If it has an I I'm the name, its not a purebred

And if you are looking for cockerels at a young age, if you have 2 of the same breed like I did, I had 2 Jersey Giants, 1 of them looks different, and it is said roosters grow feathers slower, so I looked for that one out of the 2 and when I pinpointed him, I just looked for other ones the looked like him, he has also a lot bigger even when he was a chick

The one on the right in both pics ids the cockerel, and the one one the left of both pics if the pullet. They are older now So I know the sexes.
