Sebastopol, I can´t remember if you´re already posted this one, but here it is anyway.....

The Norwegian smålens goose, or smålsensgås, is a heritage breed of Norway. (There are only two heritage breeds of geese in Norway – the Norwegian White goose, or norsk hvitgås, is the other.)
The goose is small, 5.5-6.5 kilos,

The *Orinoco Goose* ("Neochen jubata") is a member of the duck
, goose
 and swan
family
 Anatidae
. It is in the shelduck
subfamily
 Tadorninae
, and is the only living member of the genus "*Neochen*". Two fossil
relatives have been described from Late Pleistocene
sites: "Neochen pugil" and"Neochen debilis" of Brazil
 and Argentina
, respectively.
Orinoco Geese are 61 to 76 cm (24 to 30 in) long and are resident breeders in the forests of tropical South America
. Its preference is forest lakes or marshes with access to open woodland or savanna.
It has a pale head and neck, chestnut flanks and mantle and blackish wings with a white speculum
. The legs are red and the bill is black and pinkish. The sexes of this striking species are identical in plumage, though the males are larger; juveniles are duller than adults.
This is a largely terrestrial species, which will also perch readily on trees. It rarely swims or flies unless hard pressed. In flight it looks heavy, more like a goose than a duck, hence the English name.
The Orinoco Goose is a very territorial species in the breeding season, and usually nests in hollow trees, only occasionally on the ground. The male has a high pitched whistling call, and the female cackles like the related Egyptian Goose
.

Ireland just had their worst storm in history i couldent believe it ! trees were on the road everywhere and rooftops burst off peoples roofs and electricity pole all snapped literally every electricity pole! All the animals were inside! i had to get the geese out of the field and if i was near the trees branches big to massive would hit you and if you were in the middle of the field the wind would lift you up and push you to the closet dyke.It was incredible ! the geese were all shocked and were under a tree that was falling and they couldent move but i managed ! it was also flooded to make it worse and the storm knocked down half the trees in my field and my whole hedge! And my shed door snapped and flew to my neighbours but my neighbours trampolene flew in my yard so we were even :) I can now look in my neighbours field because all those trees are tumbled! But American storms are worse and now ive seen and felt what a hurricane feels it was horriflying! And this storm was only last wednesday and i finally got my electricity back ! so now im back :D

Hi serv! i´ve been talking to friends in Ireland and southern England, 70 - 80 mph winds, the weather really is terrible there! Lots of flooding too. Glad your geese are ok.
