Thought it would be nice to start a thread of turkey breeders that live in Arizona.
I am looking for a young Royal Palm tom to replace one I lost. Don't care how young. Want a tame one. I live in Wittmann AZ and need some one around or in Phoenix area. Be nice to find a Bourbon Red hen also.

Hi Fuzzybird,
You already know I have turkeys, but I thought I'd post a reply in case there are other people looking. I breed Royal Palm, Blue Slate/Lavender, Mottled Black, and Brindle (a mixed breed). I have 2 to 3 month old turkeys available now of the various breeds. Some are old enough to tell sex, some are not yet.

Glad you found this thread! I sure wish I could get to you but I did find someone that has several clutches of Royal palm chicks. Next month I am going to check it out. At least she is in north Phoenix.

*waves at Marcy* I visited your place with a friend last month when she bought mottled poults, wyandotes and the marans I talked her into! I'm still impressed with your stock. Are you going to be hatching in the fall? I'm in a holding pattern waiting to move for now-- but when I do I'm going to add Marans to my farmstead for sure and I loved the color you had in your breeding pens!.

Got my turklets today!

Got them from Feed Barn in DeerValley area. She had an ad in Craigslist for turkeys. I like the feed store. I know that others in the forum, talked about them. I like them for most of their chickens they raise or get from breeders locally. Here are some pictures I took when we got home. I was so excited for I got three colors of Royal palms. The biggest turklet is the most colored right now and think it is a tom. named him Royal. Then a normal black RP thinking hen or is it Jenny to be correct, is the next size down. Her name is Sparkler. Then two blue RPs One is named Banner, keeps his tail fanned so wonder if its a tom and than the other smallest one is Glory. You can't really see the blue markings in the pictures but will be showing more and more as she gets older. The names I used was for the 4th of July.

Hi Again Fuzzy,
I got some broad breasted whites. I had never had turkeys before, or even been around them so we thought it would be wise to try a breed with an "expiration date" as it were. I'm a duck/goose person, but I was surprised by how much I enjoy the turkeys. Can't wait to get some heritage/permanant resident turkey lurks next year.

Maybe with any luck I will have a turkey or two to sell you.
The white breasted can't live long for it was made to grow very large fast and can't walk to well after it gets big. I am not sure I could kill my turkeys!
