Turkey breeding

Ralph, is Ginger a Lurky or a Tolorant? Maybe if you let just him out with a few of the hens it might be easier to get a shot. Maybe treats would help.

Memphis . I crossed him on the calculator with my Blue red bronze. Look at the stuff I got!

he is bb DD rr she is bb Dd Rr

The last one in line was Slate edged Bourbon Red ( there are no pictures of it,, and he of course is now a Lavender edged Bourbon Red.. Which explains why we could not ID him.

I was stmped. Kept searching Porters & Feathersite & couldn't quite find anything that matched him!

He is a curious Lurky. He was nopt happy when I held him for his photo shoot. I think letting him and about 3 hens out is a great idea. Tuesday I will do that.

LOL, I love the new categorizing of turkeys I saw on the turkey talk thread! My bourbon red is a Lap turkey for sure, my royal palm is a Lurky but becoming a Tolerant

I'm oldest turkey is...a Lurky? He thinks I'm a tom and try's to fight with me sometimes. My hens are tolerant a,and my bourbon red hen is lap... She's so cute!!!

Sounds like your tom might be a Bellie Button if he's being a jerk. Aren't Lappers the best? I think the hens can be sweeter than the boys. Least it seems so...

There must be something about bourbon red females that makes them want to be lap turkeys lol.

I had two big tom turkeys 3 years ago, they were "my" first turkeys, they would attack anyone except me though so I had to sell them

. To my family they were Belly Buttons LOL but with me they were Lap turkeys.
